victoria lennard
The multidisciplinary work of Victoria — chef, painter, ceramicist, and photographer — exists at the intersection of gastronomy, art, and material expression.
Victoria Lennard is an Australian chef, painter and ceramicist whose work exists at the rare intersection of fine art and contemporary gastronomy. Having worked as Head Pastry Chef at two of Australia’s most celebrated restaurants — Attica and Restaurant Botanic — her work is guided by a deeply personal creative philosophy that dissolves the boundaries between flavour, painting, sculpture, landscape, and story telling. Through innovative artistic vision and imagination, she creates immersive works that exist simultaneously as dining and artistic expression.
Victoria’s approach has been shaped through Michelin star kitchens, global travel, and an obsessive pursuit of craft. Solo travelling through 45 countries in search of culture, technique, and artistic inspiration, she has undertaken internships within some of the world’s most revered restaurants, including three Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca, two Michelin-starred Quintonil, and Amisfield Restaurant, among others.
Beyond the kitchen, Victoria is a self-taught fine art painter and ceramicist, working varied mediums including hand-thrown ceramics created upon her pottery wheel within her Melbourne based art studio. Her paintings have been exhibited within Australia’s most revered portrait institution, the Archibald Prize, including a portrait of mentor and chef Ben Shewry. Every ceramic vessel is conceived in dialogue with the dish it carries — each element forming part of a larger artistic narrative.
At the heart of Victoria’s work lies an unwavering devotion to native Australian ingredients and connection to country. Working exclusively with endemic botanicals, native produce, and seasonality, her philosophy seeks not only to showcase Australia’s extraordinary biodiversity, but to approach it with reverence, and emotional depth.
Through The Colour Victoria, Victoria envisions an evolving world where fine art × gastronomy converge — a living artistic practice bringing together chefs, painters and creatives of all kinds in immersive sensory dialogue. Here, food moves beyond the confines of the plate. The long-term vision of The Colour Victoria is to honour the custodians of country and support women in hospitality and the arts through meaningful collaboration, cultural respect, artistic exchange, and a shared love of creativity.
